TECHNOLOGY OBJECTIVE -

Teacher and students will use technology to enhance their study of the rain forest and it's many facets.

TEACHER TECHNOLOGY OBJECTIVE -

I will let students know what they will be covering over the next nine weeks, by showing a multimedia presentation on the rain forest, using hyperstudio. My presentation will have cards showing; ecosystems and biomes, details on forests, classifications, plants, animals, cycles, deforestation, and human relationships.

STUDENT TECHNOLOGY OBJECTIVE -

The class will be in small groups, and each group will be responsible for creating a hyperstudio, presentation over a given topic on the rain forest The digital camera and video camera will be used at times to capture students while working.

In the end we will put these projects together to form one large presentation on the rain forest, that can be shared with others. We will have a parents' night and show our projects.

UNIT DESCRIPTION -

This unit will be based on the objectives in the Greenbush curriculum. I will also tie in objectives from math and health to incorporate my other areas of teaching. The other sixth grade teacher and I will work closely, so that we will also incorporate the other subject areas. TALENTS, six trait writing, and the scientific method will be areas that will be focused on as we work on this unit

We will do an in depth study of each topic in the multimedia presentation, with the use of; textbooks, Library resources, art, music, experiments, games, oral presentations, and technology.

EVALUATION -

There will be many forms of evaluation in this unit. I will have written and oral tests along the way. I will use rubrics to asses; oral


presentations,, technology, experiments, hands on projects, and their ability to use resources to acquire information.
